Deer Seeker,

Glad to hear you're interested in DUUF.  The Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is a very eclectic congregation - our members include Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Humanists, Pagans, and the ever-popular "spiritual but not religious" crowd (and we’re probably overlooking at least one path that's represented in our membership).  Sunday morning services are fairly traditional (hymns, readings, sermons, etc) whether we have a professional minister in the pulpit or whether the service is lay-led.

Unitarian Universalists focus on the dignity and worth of every person, and we don’t try to tell you what to believe.  Instead, we believe in supporting and caring for each other in our own free and responsible search for truth and meaning, and in trying to make the world a better place for all.

DUUF is also a Welcoming Congregation.  While we welcome everyone, in Unitarian Universalism that term has a specific meaning - a Welcoming Congregation is dedicated to the spiritual, political, and social well-being of those who are confronting oppression as lesbians, gay men, bisexual persons, transgender persons, and their heterosexual allies.

We have had an active CUUPS (Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans) chapter at DUUF for over five years now.  Our members follow a variety of traditions, but most of us are as committed to Unitarian Universalism as we are to our individual spiritual paths.

I hope you'll be able to visit one of our services in the near future.  Regular services are every Sunday morning at 10:30 AM.

If you have any questions about DUUF or any of its activities, please contact me or any of the other CUUPS officers.

thanks,

John Beckett

Coordinating Officer of The Bridge
